Pope AFB Installations Air Force Military
Pope Air Force Base is located 12 miles north-northeast of Fayetteville, North Carolina. It was named for 1st Lt. Harley H. Pope, a WWI flier killed when his JN-4 "Jenny" crashed into the Cape Fear River on January 7, 1917.
