USS Saint Lo Escort Aircraft Carrier Ships
Sites related to decommissioned U.S. Navy escort aircraft carrier USS Saint Lo (CVE-63). Initially named Chapin Bay, this ship was renamed Midway on 3 April 1943. She was commissioned in October 1943, and renamed Saint Lo on 10 October 1944. 15 days later, 25 October 1944, she was sunk by a kamikaze off Samar. 114 of her crew were lost with the ship.
