Vermont United States North America

Vermont is a small New England state that ranks as the second smallest of the fifty United States (based on population and land area). It is noted for the Green Mountains to the west and Lake Champlain in the northwest and is bordered by Massachusetts, New Hampshire, New York and the Canadian province of Quebec. Vermont was the 14th state to join the United States. The western part of the state was originally home to a small population of Algonquian-speaking tribes, including the Mohican and Abenaki peoples.
