Toynbee, Arnold Historians History
The economic historian and social reformer Arnold Toynbee (1852-1883) is chiefly known for The Industrial Revolution in England, and is sometimes credited with popularizing the term “industrial revolution.” He was the uncle of Arnold J. Toynbee.
